FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is working with a Virtual Assistant right for me?

Many business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals view the use of a VA as vital to the growth and success of their businesses. However, to partner successfully with a Virtual Assistant, you will need to adopt the following attitudes and practices:

  • Be open to new ideas and new ways of doing things.
  • Be able to use e-mail and/or instant messaging technologies.
  • Recognize that a VA is a business partner, NOT an employee.
  • Be prepared to delegate work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Be available to answer the VA's questions, especially during the early phases of a project.

  • How does Islander Virtual Assistant work with me?

I partner with you, learn about you, your business, or line of work, and help you with your specific needs for the long term, unlike temporary-hire employees.

Do you charge by the hour? Do you offer service packages?

Most of my services are priced-out as per-project or retainer packages, which have fixed prices. I offer monthly retainer packages with an agreed-upon number of hours per month for a set rate. My monthly-retainer packages never expire: if the hours purchased are not used in full by the end of the agreed-upon time, the balance remains on your account, to be used at another time. I also offer fixed-price per-project service packages. I  DO offer hourly rates, but my other service packages are more cost effective in the long run.

What about Consultations, Contracts, and Methods of Payment?

    • I offer a FREE one-hour preliminary consultation to prospective clients BEFORE we enter into any agreement so that we can determine which of my services are required and which payment scheme works best for the client. While I do prefer to work under a basic written contract, I can be flexible about how detailed you want it to be. I offer a variety of service packages and payment plans to suit any budget. I can also set up a payment plan to suit your individual business requirements and budget. To read more-detailed information about doing business with Islander Virtual Assistant, please go to the BILLING & PAYMENT POLICIES page.

How do I contact you to set up a service contract?

To set up an appointment for your FREE one-hour initial consultation, you may contact me any time of the day via e-mail address listed on the CONTACT ME page.
